More than just a name - it's our "why"

If you’ve lived in Washington for any length of time, you know that the clouds are our constant companions. It’s why we named our space Rainy Days Play Cafe—it’s a nod to our home, but it’s also a promise to our community. There’s a saying we live by: "There's a light behind every cloud." To us, this means that even when the sky is gray or life feels a bit overwhelming, the warmth and joy we’re looking for hasn't disappeared—they’re just temporarily hidden from view. We believe that hard moments are like a passing shadow, and better days (and brighter moods!) are always just on the other side. We built this cafe to be the "light" for those days. We wanted a sanctuary where families can escape the drizzle—literal or figurative—and step into a world of play, laughter, and warmth. Rainy Days isn’t just a place to play when it’s wet outside; it’s a reminder that no matter how many clouds are in the sky, there is always a place where you can find warmth, community, and a little bit of sunshine.
